From the beginning of the archaeological project in 1994, Cinebar has been providing continuing audiovisual documentation of the activities involved with exploring the site of the first permanent English settlement in America. In the summer of 2005, the documentation broadened to East Anglia in England as the Rediscovery team sought to prove the identity of remains found on Jamestown Island through DNA. In a historic first, the Church of England allowed burials at two churches to be exhumed for DNA testing. Meanwhile progress continues on at the site of the original James Fort, including excavating a well (2006) that dates back to the period of John Smith with dramatic new artifacts coming to light.
